26 Things
So I'm turning 26 in a couple of hours. And I'm someone who gets pretty excited by birthdays. I remember being younger and staying awake until 00:00 of 28 November to ~witness~ the moment I enter a new age. Nowadays I just sleep through it. I was actually born in the evening so the midnight countdown never really mattered anyway.
My birthday is usually when I recap the year and look at how my goals have been progressing. And because it's so close to the end of the year, it's when I set goals and have a general idea for the coming year. Right now I'm feeling a bit squeamish about crossing that 25 mark, the I'm approaching my 30s now mark. One thing is for sure, I don't think I could ever let go of my inner child no matter my age. So though I initially planned to do a reflection and insights kind of post, I think I'm just going to keep it light-hearted with an interview with myself (with 26 questions obviously) and also for you to know a little bit more about me.
1. Favourite Lipstick (YES! We are starting with makeup!)
MAC Topped With Brandy. I love my reds, pinks and berrys, but a lipstick that would best capture my essence is a reddish pinkish brown.
2. Favourite Outfit
As much as I hate how I look in them thanks to my thighs, a jeans and a top.
3. Favourite Film
Hard to pick one but most action, superheroes and comedies get the job done!
4. Favourite Book
Again, hard to pick one. It's like asking me to pick my favourite finger!
5. Favourite Song
"Romeo Attam Pottal" by AR Rahman. I want that to play at my funeral.
6. Role Model
I don't believe in role models but I derive inspirations from a lot of people.
7. Favourite Friends Episode
The One With The Triplets
8. Favourite TV series
Go On
9. Someone from history you would like to meet
Rani Velu Nachiyar. That was one badass lady.
10. An Imaginary 24 hours
A Chettinad style breakfast, a visit to Brihadeeswarar Temple, Angkor Wat, Japanese cherry blossoms and then off to wander around Petra. Lunch at Morocco. A quick visit to Egypt (Have they found Nefertiti's tomb yet?), lots of cafe and museum hopping around every single European country. Dinner in Rome and end the night at the city of love, Paris. Cheesy as hell, I know.
11. A more Realistic-ish Fantasy
Doing the opening monologue at the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and then Jon Stewart crashes my interview segment.
12. Unicorns?
I just don't get it. I love fantasies and dream worlds but I just don't get the fad about it.
13. Philosophy
Everything, and absolutely everything, happens for a reason.
14. Which Disney villain would you be?
Maleficent
15. Order A Drink
Coffee. Duh.
16. Alcoholic *eye roll*
Oh. Mojitos.
17. Indulgence
A massage, soak, the full works.
18. Telepathy or Teleporting?
Telepathy
19. What are you afraid people see when they look at you?
My insecurity with my looks
20. A sports car or a Volkswagen van?
Sports car. Ain't nobody got time for no hippie van.
21. Politics?
Get me out of this conversation.
22. Ben & Jerry's or Haagen-Dazs
Neither. Magnum. B&J if I absolutely have to pick one.
23. Un-ventured Hobby
Playing the drums
24. What is something you would never do again?
I'm happy with all my choices so far. My mistakes and my rights made and continue to make me who I am.
25. What are the two types of people in the world?
The ones who entertain and the ones who observe (Get the reference?)
26. What keeps you up at night?
How humans have evolved. Death, in the sense, my fear in losing my mind. If all this is worthwhile.
Hope you had fun reading this! Thank you for being with me on this journey thus far!
